Description
Abstract:
Since relocating its headquarters to South Australia in 2017, Strike has continued to test the boundaries of assumed porosity and permeability depth limits. 2018 saw the execution of the Jaws project in the southern Cooper Basin, which deployed numerous advanced drilling, stimulation, completion and artificial lift technologies to deep coals of the Patchawarra formation. Strike has just finished drilling the deepest onshore gas well in Australia at West Erregulla in the north Perth Basin. Evaluation of both is ongoing, however the West Erregulla discovery looks set to rival the nearby Waitsia field in both reservoir quality and resource size. Andrew will share with the audience an insight on the design and execution of both projects and a teaser of results to date.
Biography:
Andrew graduated from the University of Newcastle (Australia) in 2002 with a B. Sc in Geology. He has 17 years of experience working with onshore oil and gas operators on exploration and development projects in all 5 mainland states of Australia. Prior to joining Strike Energy in 2012, Andrew worked with AGL Energy on the Camden Gas Project development, Silver Springs Underground Gas Storage Facility, and Surat Basin conventional exploration assets. Andrew has held the position of Manager Geoscience with Strike since 2014, and is responsible for all of Strike’s subsurface exploration activities. Andrew has been a key member of the Strike team during the design and execution of the Jaws Project in the Cooper Basin, and more recently the West Erregulla discovery in the Perth Basin. Andrew enjoys cycling and gardening, but by his own admission is yet to master either.
